Cover Redesign: 'Letters in a Trunk: A WWII Love Story'
This month, Michelle Argyle at Melissa Williams Design reimagines the cover of Letters in a Trunk: A WWII Love Story by indie author Daniel R. Mazza. To submit a book for a free cover redesign, email us at booklifeeditor@booklife.com.
Design Note #1: For the title, I used a calligraphy font for a more personal, inviting touch. I overlaid it with an ink texture to complete the look.
Design Note #2: In order to draw the eye to one main element, I put the two photographs together rather than keeping them separated as they were on the original cover.
Design Note #3: The author had so many images to include that I decided to create an entire scene out of some of them, rather than just two photos.
Design Note #4: Including a pen in the scene helps bring it to life.
