Arthur C. Bivins III is a fifth-generation Floridian and a third-generation native of Miami-Dade County. For many years, he has been an avid student of Florida history. He became interested in the events of the Second Seminole War as a child. Much later, as he researched the historical background of this mostly forgotten war, he felt that it was strong enough to be the background for a novel. He and his wife still reside in South Florida. Arthur has worked in a variety of fields as an actor, musician and as president of his family business. Arthur was the lead singer in an Americana folk trio called C.O.D. (Cool Old Dudes) that was later renamed Charter Flight. A member of the Screen Actors Guild, he has played a number of roles on stage in Coral Gables, Florida.
