Bruce Burgess Junek has traveled and bicycled with his wife, Tass Thacker, through more than 50 countries. In 1987 the two photographers created Images of the World to share the stories of their continuing adventures. To date nearly two million students have seen their educational school assembly slide presentations, along with adult audiences at festivals and cultural events.
The Foundling of Dayr Castle, along with all of the books in A Bright One Chronicles, are rich with influences from their many journeys, including bicycling through the Kalahari, Sahara and Gobi deserts. Their pilgrimages to sacred shrines and temples around the world celebrates the universal longing to find meaning in life through personal practice, spiritual beliefs and mystical teachings.
Bruce has written two travel narratives, The Road of Dreams and Andes to the Amazon, available on their website, imagesoftheworld.com, and created the feature length documentary Bruce & Tass Bicycle China. The couple still travels and is now enthralled with salsa dancing and cha cha.
