Chip Walter is an award winning author, journalist, National Geographic Explorer, filmmaker and former CNN bureau chief. He has an unusually broad background that spans both science and entertainment. Chip's work reaches out to mainstream audiences to explore complex topics that relate to the human condition: artificial intelligence, human evolution, emotion, behavior and creativity. He is the author of six books and three screenplays and has published articles in National Geographic magazine, Slate, The Economist, Wall Street Journal, and many others. He’s also spoken at Harvard, Carnegie Mellon University, The Chautauqua Institution and San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club. Chip’s most recent publication, and first work of fiction, is Doppelganger, a story set in the near future when technology allows a dead man to return and solve his own murder. Chip has also undertaken another writing project he calls a Vagabond's Adventure. He is currently traveling with his wife, Cyndy, across all seven of earth’s continents, never by jet. They are entering their fourth year and have so far travelled over 125,000 miles, one day, one culture, one experience at a time. Says Chip, “We have been humbled, and have learned so much about ourselves and the world. As a writer, my goal is to share what we have learned so we can all understand the world and its remarkable people a little better.” To learn more visit chipwalter.com or vagabond-adventure.com.
