Jami Yeats holds an Honour's Degree in Psychology (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch and is a successful entrepreneur and business owner. She received the Overstrand Mayoral Award for Woman of the Year in 2019 for her work with special needs children, including the establishment of The Butterfly Centre.

Sam & Me and the Hard Pear Tree is her first published work and is a humane, no holds barred story of living with and battling grief and loss with deep compassion, grace and humour. Jami's voice and infectious, anecdotal style invite the reader into a place of vulnerability that will leave them both inspired and comforted.

She lives on her family's wine and ecotourism estate, Stanford Hills in the Western Cape of South Africa with her husband, kids, ridgebacks and grossly overweight pig, Crackling. Jami is currently learning how to be a kickass home cook. It's going well.
