I live with my husband and two children on the East Sussex coast in the UK, a stone’s throw from my childhood home.
For a long time, I have wanted to write a novel that I would be proud of.
My background is in criminal law where every day brought something new. I have spent a lot of time in Courts and Prisons preparing a persons’ case for trial including meeting a wide range of clientele who, in most cases are absolutely terrified of the process and the fear of facing a prison sentence. I find that it brings both the best and the worst out in people.
Some lawyers believe that in a handful of cases, the truth about the crimes falls somewhere between the Prosecution and the Defence case. After all, it appears to be normal behaviour to exaggerate or minimise a real event. People who are emotionally invested cannot see it from another’s point of view and everyone sees things very differently. This was the basis upon which I decided to write Guilty.
I’m passionate about telling a story and evoking emotion from a complete stranger. I have so many stories in my head, to spend my days extracting them onto paper would be a dream come true. Hopefully Guilty is my first step towards achieving this goal.
I self-published my debut book The Hartford Inheritance with KDP in 2014. This is another psychological thriller.
