Jennifer is a graduate of New York University and NYU School of Law which she attended as an Institute for International Law and Justice Scholar. Jennifer draws on her background in law and role as a mother to write about politics, democracy, and parenting. Her articles have been published in a range of political journals. 

Jennifer's first book, Whole Dog Parenting: Everything You Need to Raise and Train an Urban Pup, was written with her husband Ovidiu Stoica. Jennifer and Ovidiu own a dog services business that, since 2002, has been providing training, walks, and hikes to “the luckiest dogs” in NYC, according to the Wall Street Journal.   

After living in New York City for twenty years, Jennifer and her husband Ovidiu moved to Newtown, Connecticut in 2019. They have two young daughters and a puppy named Skye. Jennifer is currently working on her second non-fiction book about gun violence in America.
