The Author, JL Huffman,is a former LPN and now a retired Trauma Surgeon/ICU doctor. She is a former medical editor of Northeast Florida Medicine Journal and is published in the surgical literature (publish or perish). She has written three poetry books, each has won a High Country Writers Book of the Year award. The Author is a prolific writer of haiku, and is at work on a post-apocalyptic novel, She is a Pennsylvania native who currently lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. When she is not writing, she is busy gardening.
