Kyomi is the author of her debut memoir, A Sky of Infinite Blue- A Japanese Immigrant's Search for Home and Self. Kyomi and her late husband, Patrick, met in Maryland as both researchers at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. They moved to San Diego, California in 1998 and practiced Buddhism together in their daily lives. After Patrick's illness and death, writing became an integral part of her life and spiritual practice. Kyomi enjoys yoga, QiGong, walking, cooking, photography, and theatrical plays so much. She lives with her two cats, Tommy and Omi.
