Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised with his brothers and sister, as a child he enjoyed exploring the neighborhood woods, a small river, and riding the bus with his cousin to fish on the Detroit River. In his neighborhood, full of kids, there was always sand lot baseball, building tree forts, and playing soldiers bombing each other with soft clay balls.
Growing up hardly quelled his drive to explore the world and satisfy his curiosity about everything he encountered. His self-discipline emerged before he hit the road with the help in school of the Dominican nuns who taught him well his reading, writing and arithmetic, all enhanced by their same curiosity and appreciation of learning and how knowledge enriches our lives. His first unforgettable appreciation of music occurred in the second grade with Sister Camilla when she played a record of The Nutcracker, by Tchaikovsky.
L.J. Golicz has travelled, but getting caught with three Georgian Mafia in an elevator in Moscow is not on the guided tour. With an open mind he has interacted with people and the history of many countries. Indeed, doing business in China depended on the year he was born, the year of the monkey. Golicz, being a member of a law enforcement family, has focused his efforts on creative writing, exploring the problems of eliminating the growing networked underworld of drugs. From his unending pocket of memories he develops the landscape of his writing and his notable fictional characters working to survive undercover conflicts in the fight against crime.
