Leonard I. Eckhaus
Leonard Eckhaus is the founder of AFCOM (1980), the leading association in the world for Data Center Managers; he established and presided over The Data Center Institute, a think tank of leading computer industry corporate and data center visionaries; and he created, produced and published DCM, an award-winning magazine. His comments and information about the growth and impact of Data Centers have appeared in such major publications as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg News and others.
His first book, My Journey: (Lessons I’ve Learned Along the Way), the Memoirs of Leonard I. Eckhaus, was selected by UK Talk Radio as one of the top 10 must-read books in 2021.
His first Children’s book, Grinza’s Orchard: An Enchanted Tale, written for young readers aged 9 – 12, was an Amazon number 1 bestseller in six different categories, and a YouTube video about the book received over 30,000 views!
His next children’s book, If I Were a Pony, a poem about the relationship between a young lad and his pony, aimed at the grade school audience, has won eleven international awards including Creative Child Magazine’s 2021 Book of the Year.
On November 1, 2022 he released his latest children’s book, Dare to Imagine, a cornucopia of wonderful children's poems, songs and fables.
His poem, Why I Love Baseball, along with his thoughts on the sport, was recently published by the online magazine, Baseball Roundtable.
Leonard entered the music field in 2017, co-founding LL Music, a music production company and record label. His very first album, Rendezvous, featuring the singer, Clint Holmes, received two Grammy nominations.
A song he wrote for his wife Linda, titled In Your Arms Forever, charted on UK Radio in its first week on the air and has received over 50,000 views on YouTube.
A children’s song he wrote called Let’s Be Silly, was a semi-finalist in the 2021 International Songwriting Competition (ISC), the largest songwriting competition in the world with over 21,000 entrants.
And, his most recent children’s song, If I Were a Pony, has received over 40,000 views on YouTube.
Leonard has served on the Boards of the Nevada Ballet Theater and the Las Vegas Philharmonic. He and his wife Linda are Capstone contributors at Las Vegas’ Smith Center for the Performing Arts. They also support the Las Vegas Opera and the local Chamber Music Society.
He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Linda, for 60 years. They have two children, Lee and Jill, and three grandchildren, Stephen, Mikki and Hannah. He and his wife have been living in Las Vegas for the past twenty years and have traveled the world extensively, visiting over 90 countries and all seven continents.
