Marshall Welch is a "recovering academic" who spent 30+ years in higher education where he focused on scholarly writing.  Now retired, he writes contemporary fiction.  Prior to his academic career he was a professional musician, breakfast chef, and grave digger.  He lives with his wife in Boring, Oregon (that's the actual name of a town and not an adjective of a geographical location).
