Daughter of legendary Boeing Chief Test Pilot Lew Wallick, Rebecca witnessed many of the history-making events described and knows the pilots personally, giving her access to their secrets and previously untold stories of successes and near-disasters as they tested and pushed the envelopes of Boeing's early commercial jets from the 1950s through the 1980s. An attorney, Rebecca used her interviewing and research skills to elicit the details and oral histories that bring this little-known part of aviation history to life in Growing Up Boeing (2014), putting the reader in the cockpit during amazing aviation tests and record-setting flights. In her second book, the memoir Wild Running (2024), Wallick reflects on the ways dogs and the natural world - particularly wolves - helped her through life's many challenges, especially her mid-forties diagnosis of a rare neurological condition that required she reinvent herself and her lifestyle. The author is now retired, still writing, and living in rural Vermont with her Australian shepherd and two Alaskan Malamutes.
