Steve Skurka is a highly respected criminal defense lawyer in Toronto. He defended the landmark racial profiling case in Canada of R. v. Brown involving a former player on the Toronto Raptors. In other precedent-setting cases, he led evidence of marijuana-induced psychosis to mitigate his client’s sentence and relied on the battered child syndrome in a homicide case. Steve taught at Osgoode Hall Law School, acted as the legal analyst for CTV, and wrote a book about the sensational case of media baron Conrad Black. He is currently working on Pharo and the Murder at Smoke Lake, the sequel to Pharo and the Clever Assassin.
