Born in the midst of a thunderstorm in the darkest hours of a solstice morning, I’ve been told I have a personality to match – full of sound and fury, and highly unpredictable. I come from a family of storytellers – traditional, oral storytellers, that is – so I suppose it’s little wonder that I’m driven to weave words as well. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love all things books – from the feel and smell of the pages, to the information they hold, to the tales that they tell – but storytelling is a labor of love, which doesn’t always pay the bills. Over the years, I’ve worked a ridiculous variety of side jobs to support my writing habit, including waitress, security guard, library minion, sales person, hair dresser, handyman, engineering drafter, and small business owner.
