Bohunk is an experienced writer, internationally-known author, educator, Psychiatrist, and known medical authority in the field of addiction. He has gleaned his expertise through constant research and more than more than forty years of treating addicts with compassion and resolve. What none of his patients (as well as many people in his personal and professional life) know is that he also acquired his knowledge through his own extreme battle with addiction and recovery; this was the impetus for his decision to specialize in Psychiatry—in order to educate and help those who face similar struggles. He uses a pen name to preserve anonymity, as stated in the AA traditions, and holds nothing back in his memoir. He has published over 250 medical journal articles as well as 13 books (some award-winning).
