Tom Pearson works in theater, dance, film, poetry and multimedia visual art. He is known for his original works for theater including the long-running, off-Broadway immersive hits Then She Fell and The Grand Paradise and as a co-founder and co-director of the New York-based Third Rail Projects and Global Performance Studio.
Tom has been named among the “100 Most Influential People in Brooklyn Culture” by Brooklyn Magazine and has received numerous accolades for his work, including two New York Dance & Performance (BESSIE) Awards, a Kingsbury Award in writing from the Florida State University, and several international film festival awards for his collaborative experimental short film, The Night Garden. He has also received commissions from Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, La Jolla Playhouse, Jacob’s Pillow, Folger Shakespeare Library, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Danspace Project, Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, and more.
Tom has received fellowships and artist residencies from: CEC ArtsLink (Russia); The Bogliasco Foundation (Italy); the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University (USA); and Olin College of Engineering (USA); among others.
