With both innate (Onötowáʼka: Seneca) and inculcated devotion to the literary, historical, environmental, and cultural conflicts, identities, and dreams of the American West, Trey Sienne Olneya’s novels are carefully crafted from lived experience. English-Spanish bilingual, with advanced schooling in the natural sciences, history and literature of the American West and Latin America, he has worked as a corporate scribe and curriculum developer, an outdoor educator, and full-time college faculty member in the United States and Mexico. He has seen wide publication for more than two decades in periodicals, books, television, film, and education curricula—much of which has appeared without byline. He divides his year seasonally between western Oregon, Latin America, and the Sonoran Southwest.
