Hi! — I’m a high school senior who loves to draw & write.  The Peacock Tree is my first book — it’s a great read-aloud for children ages 2-7. A stay in a magical English castle inspired me, and it has a lot of pictures because I had my little brother in mind :) You see, The Peacock Tree is real and so is the Castle. Here, each night, the peacocks flutter up to the high branches of the proud old oak tree. Here I imagined an ancient conversation between the twelfth century Castle and the much younger 400-year-old Tree. Together, they whisper to the saplings in the forest and the roses in the garden, about the simpler times of a simpler place which were not always better. Here the children realize what we all must do: take care of each other.
