This is a memoir about a slightly neurodivergent male beginning with his childhood in a small Southern town in the 1950s through the first 50 years of his life. As he grows, he must come to terms with his idiosyncrasies, sensitivities, anxieties, and physical abnormalities, as well as coming to terms with being homosexual. These issues create conflicts with his spiritual beliefs in addition to difficulties in both personal and business relationships. His questioning of these conditions leads to an intensive search of ancestry and family history looking for clues to whether he was born this way or primarily influenced by his childhood environment. The search revealed a history of deep family roots in the founding and history of the country.
