Bob McNeil writes in a style I really enjoy. His poetry and essays are thought provoking and a pleasure to read.
A wide variety of topics are touched on including compassion, romance, learning, loss and grief, with excellent diversity of forms and rhyming patterns. Many of the poems have accompanying sketches or pictures.
Many of his pieces struck a chord with me, but I was really touched by two of his essays in particular. I'm reluctant to reveal which though. Every readers tastes are different, and everyone will surely find something that resonates with them in a deep, meaningful way.
Bob is a talented writer that uses words in the same way a great painter uses all the hues available on their palette. His language is rich and colorful, but not ostentatious. It breathes life into his thoughts, and makes Compositions on Compassion and Other Emotions truly a treasure for those with open hearts and minds.
