This is a young adult drama about a young husband in his mid-twenties who joins the military hoping to make a better living for his family and ends up getting deployed during his first year as a Marine. He's a deeply religious man who believes his marriage is doing great, but everyone else who knows him and his wife seem to see things differently. Deploying to combat not only changes him, but it opens his eyes to what's going on in his marriage. As much as he wants to save his marriage, he has to contend with the impact that being deployed will not only have on him but also his wife and their marriage. What will he find when he returns? This book explores the darker side of military deployments from a creative perspective.
This book presents a creative mashup of screenwriting, poetry, and art. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
