Honey the Bee Goes to Caterpillar University
A.R Raspa, author
‘Honey the Bee Goes to Caterpillar University’ is about a European bee named Honey, a lovely bee who is not very good at collecting pollen. After disappointing the queen once too often, her sting is torn from her abdomen, and she is discarded from the hive via the royal waste chute.
A breeze deposits Honey atop a leaf beside a cocoon, and as she takes her penultimate breath, four fuzzy paws reach through the cocoon and pull Honey inside.
Honey awakes on the pupae plane: a land where caterpillars spend their time before becoming moths or butterflies.
She regains her strength and is a reluctant celebrity, for she is the only bug in this realm with a pair of wings. Honey soon discovers that something has gone horribly wrong because these caterpillars have lost their ability to gain their wings and leave this realm. Honey and her two newfound friends: Snickledoo & Lopo, set off on an adventure to restore the natural order of things.
‘Honey the Bee Goes to Caterpillar University’ is a story about the importance of courage, being true to yourself, and harnessing the power of critical thinking.
