As compiled by Candace Gish, Journeys Of Discovery: A Divas That Care Book is about twenty journeys by female entrepreneurs and coaches on life, business, and happiness. The celebration of women and what they can do for the greater good in our society. The book starts out about women who had found their imperfections perfected by wanting to help others. They fell off the wagon, then jumped right back on, learning to go out of their comfort zones and succeed in helping others. They went from listening to others to fulfill their dreams by listening to themselves and going after their dreams with one goal - loving one's self. Cindy Brilz spoke about taking yourself from one comfort zone to another and from one success to another as seasons change. They mirrored what they wanted. Kebie Whitehead taught how to act like everyone is watching you even if you are alone.
A few women battled eating disorders and mid-life crises but came to the conclusion that life has just begun and the best is yet to come. Amanda Bucklaschuk explains how she is now appreciating herself and her journey, realizing that there are people out there who would gladly love our “shitty” days. Many went from abuse and illness to a successful role as wife, mother, and businesswoman. The women explain that when you make mistakes, you are learning and creating new beginnings. Teresa Syms goes on to state that no matter your background, you have worth and can fulfill your dreams... to take chances and learn from your mistakes. You are here to make this a better place. Maria Allyn explains that every day is a gift and to devour it. We have the power to plan it our way. Finally, our personal stories are asked for submission to the Divas That Care series.
My personal favorites in Journeys Of Discovery by Candace Gish ranged from Eryka Parker, empowering herself to empower others with humility and compassion, to Adedoyin Omotara's dream of make-up as I so love everything about make-up. I am still thinking about the process of taking this dream on. Amanda Bucklaschuk reminded me in her essay about how people would gladly trade places, something Joyce Meyer of Joyce Meyer Ministries stresses all the time in her sermons. Dawn Lloyd makes so much sense when she states that we are all unique and that the world should see what we see in ourselves. Are we kind? Are we helpful? In conclusion, Teresa Syms explains that we should learn from our mistakes and make this world a better place! Change lives!"
