Lost and Found: Book 1 of the E Apocrypha by Alex Andre follows Yun-mi, a young woman living in a broken world after all the technology has been wiped out and people are barely surviving. Under the tutelage of Kim Joon Woo, Yun-mi trains to become a Rat in the City. She is learning how to use weapons, hunt, and find food. Then her whole world is turned upside down when Joon Woo is killed and she is sold into slavery. But Yun-mi won't give up. She wants to live her own life and along with Buck, a young soldier, she will fight for that chance.
Alex Andre has written a thought-provoking book with Lost and Found: Book 1 of the E Apocrypha. The elements of technology and religion echo today's society. And if it did come to that, it would, unfortunately, be easy to imagine people acting the way they do in this book. The story moved at a good pace and kept my interest throughout. The descriptions of the world and how it looks after the events of the apocalypse are both imaginative and chilling. Knowing how much we rely on technology, if it were to be taken away, things could look very bleak. Yun-mi is a great character. She is tough and determined and faces a lot of challenges, but she is fighting for her life and will do anything to live. I think this would appeal to dystopian fans and probably science fiction fans too. I would definitely recommend it.
