(5 stars) "The Road to Recovery is like taking a journey with a gentle, patient, safe friend who has already gone down the road herself... She knows what's up ahead and she prepares you for each curve and hill with guidance and encouragement meant to help you successfully complete the journey.I found this guided journal to have just the right amount of education to facilitate the journal prompts that really help you do the "work" that's necessary to recover from the dysfunctional patterns you may have learned in childhood and clung to in adulthood. The author draws from some CBT skills (thought challenges), scriptural truths, the best of the 12 steps and is gentle enough to steer clear of using triggering language for those with trauma backgrounds. She encourages self care, self pacing and honest introspection. As a licensed clinical mental health counselor who specializes in complex PTSD, I can't wait to recommend this to my faith based clients. I'm eagerly awaiting the alternate version for those that aren't interested in utilizing faith to aide their healing process."
(5 stars) "After 44 years of Christ-centered Sobriety, I still had great insights and ah-hah moments as I read Joan Warren's My Road to Recovery. This is a masterful work and will definitely touch many people's lives for eternity."

(5 Stars) "I found this book really helpful, and I am still working through it. It's as if the author is walking alongside me, helping root out sublimated feelings, self-concepts, and memories, and redefining them. Well worth reading and staying with it until the last page. I have a feeling I'm going to need to do a reread."
