Rayla vs. The Machine
From the backup logs of Rayla Fields Date: 2137 AD, Month 6 Location: Earth, Midwestern United States, exact geo-tag unknown It seems that people were fascinated with speculating on how society would crumble. Would it be zombies, natural disaster, climate change, aliens, revolt of the machines, collapse of the machines, or some type of rapture or asteroid that comes instantly? Well, it ended up being almost all of those things. However, it didn’t happen quickly. It didn’t happen like some type of two hour blockbuster film. It was a slow and steady collapse. I think we’re about 80 or so years into this trickle of an apocalypse. I’m in the Midwest United States right now with my brother, cousin, and our cat, heading west. The world as we know it is organized into camps or settlements always within radio distance of the next camp or settlement. There’s a rumor that there’s a fully functional research lab that survived everything out west. If that’s true, I need that lab for my research. I’m going to find a cure or a vaccine for Pathogen X. Something to stop humanity from crumbling bit by bit further into this dystopian nightmare.
