The first person I will recommend to read this book is my husband. As a former Military marksman, he will enjoy the writing style of Mr. Lager. Who surrounds you with such detail of Iowa's 'Best Shooter' competition that you feel as though you are there.
I picked up this book because a local author writes it and is set in my home state of Iowa. I enjoyed reading about a female main character that set her mind on a profession (generally dominated by men) and reached it.
The storyline progresses steadily, and you don't realize that you read it in one day, despite being just over 200 pages long.
I look forward to purchasing more RO DELAHANTY novels in the future.

Ro’s Handle by Dave Lager is the first installment in the Ro Delahanty adventure series. This book was fun and action-packed. The plot and storyline laid a captivating foundation for the subsequent sequels. I love heroines, especially ones who conquer on their feet. Ro’s ability to compartmentalize, think rationally, and get the job done made her almost invulnerable.
But seeing her bond with Frank, Atti, Tuck, and her parents showed me a balanced character. This novel also sheds light on the attitude to work. While Battisen came to earn his daily bread, Ro was there to make a positive change. It is common knowledge that women always had to prove themselves deserving, especially in male-dominated fields. I want to tell every woman putting in the work that “You’re killing it!”
