She'safella: The Fancy Tales Series
Felice Cohen, author
She’safella is the story of an unhappy young women named Fella living in New York City with her father, horrible stepmother and two mean stepbrothers. The only time Fella is happy is when she's playing softball in Central Park. Unfortunately her stepbrothers find a way to ruin that too, by coming to her games and shouting, “She’safella!” since she’s the only girl on the team. When the newspapers announce that the mayor of NYC is hosting a birthday gala at Tavern on the Green for his daughter, his “Princess,” She’safella couldn’t care less. At this point, enter She’safella’s “Don’t call me fairy” Godmama, some magic Freedom rings, the stroke of 2 a.m. (midnight is way too early in NYC), and a missing Dr. Martens shoe.
The Fancy Tales series are modern New York City versions of the classic fairy tales we all grew up with, yet they contain a wholesomely presented and slightly sophisticated gay twist. The Fancy Tales are for kids, teens and adults (gay or straight!) to enjoy.
