Matters turn worse when bacteria begin to manifest themselves into animal beings dubbed OTUs. Animals that can think, stalk and kill. Delving across the country from New York to the Louisiana Swamps, struggling people search for family, a haven, or evacuation. From Mason, a young man forced into being the guardian of two children guiding and protecting them from unknowable horrors, to an unlikely pair of a police officer and criminal aiding one another to escape a city infested with creatures.
