Millicent lives on a farm in the idyllic Pitayta Gully community with her three older brothers, her absentee mother and her grandparents. Everything is easygoing until the stranger arrives and takes up residence on their farm. Suddenly, a sleuth of murder, theft, domestic violence and rape knocks the village out of serenity. But while the villagers eye the stranger with suspicion, Millicent harbors the feeling that the roots of the present evils were planted in their village long before his arrival. More troubling, is her belief that her very own family may be at the center of it all. Will she have the courage and resilience to face her demons and stand up to her enemies as she forges a path forward for herself and the entire district?
