In all of Wishingfolk history, there has never been a female wizard. Twelve-year-old Ailey Windsong is about to change that. When the yearly Bringing in the Light ceremony is eclipsed by pollution, Ailey’s twin brother Ivan is chosen to go to the human world to dissolve the menacing black cloud. There’s just one problem: Ivan is a terrible wizard. Ailey knows the only solution is to learn the super-secret Wishing Spell and follow Ivan through the portal to the human world. When she gets there, she will need to boost her brother’s spells (as she’s secretly been doing for years), dispel the cloud and make it back to their hamlet. All without being discovered.
